ROCK CITY MORGUE: March Brings Good Tidings
March 9, 2004ROCK CITY MORGUE, the New Orleans, Louisiana-based band featuring former WHITE ZOMBIE bassist Sean Yseult, ex-MAN SCOUTS OF AMERICA frontman Rik Slave, and ex-THE B MOVIE RATS drummer Andy Baker, have posted the following message on their official web site:
"March has brought good tidings in the recording world for the MORGUE — it has just been announced that as of March 9th, the E.P. 'Some Ghouls' will be added to hundreds of college rock, metal, and commercial playlists — ask your local station to play it if you don't hear it! Look for press to follow, especially Friday Morning Quarterback, or you can go to fmqb.com. This news comes as the band's newest E.P. is on the slab, being pressed — the release date is exactly a month to follow — April 9th, with a scheduled record release party on April 10th in New Orleans.
"Although the MORGUE is always hard at work, they didn't want to bore you with photos of their grueling labor — besides, many of the locations are off limits to cameras, and the photos would not be permissible in the general public — so instead, they have provided you with some shots over their Mardi Gras 2 week debauchery — as you can see, the band can't help but try to wake the dead, even on their time off. Rik provided countless opportunities for impromptu bands at his Mardi Gras H.Q. apartment, and the MORGUE hobnobbed and jammed with local rockstar and friend Pepper Keenan [of C.O.C./DOWN fame], and visiting friends J. of WHITE ZOMBIE and the mighty Senen, their Spanish tour manager. A good time was had by all, or by those who can remember it! Last but not least, Sean will be at SXSW, not for a performance, but for the Rawk Show art opening, Thursday, March 18th, in which she has a piece on display. Please visit Tinderbox13.com to see the stellar list of musicians showing art at this show! Until next month, pleasant nightmares!"
